Welcome to real life.

Sorry for the lack of posts guys, I've been super busy the last few days. Moved into the apt., started basically working from like 9-5p, on top of trying to actually settle in to the place. The apartment is nice though, very quiet, doesn't feel like a dorm at all, but then again that's NYU for you, school community a thing to only be wondered about.

I will say that the last few days have pretty much shown me what "adulthood" is like and quite frankly, I'm not feeling it. The responsibility, the early morning rising, and 11 o'clock bedtime is all more clear to me now. Adults go to be early b/c they are tired as hell. And unfortunately, this will probably be my life for the whole semester. Damn, this sucks, but I'll get used to it; I don't have a choice.

Back to school time.

So i'm going back to school tomorrow, super excited. I know this year is going to be insane. With that said I'll probably be slacking a lot on the blog. I apologize but it is inevitable. I have SO much going on this semester and I'm not really sure how I'm going to make it through (with God anything is possible though) I'm interning this semester 20 hrs a week on top of classes. Not to mention this job is unpaid, so once again I'll have to survive an entire semester without pay and this yr, without a meal plan. All I have to say is thank God for those 2 jobs I had this summer.

So I will def keep you guys posted on my life, I can't wait to intern, it should be exciting. I finally get to work at a place where I can learn about my passion and become better at it. A wise person (my mom) once told me that success doesn't come without hard work. I guess it's my time to put in that hard work. Wish me luck!

I stumbled on this pic while magazine surfing at the hairdressers today. I thought it was an absolute beautiful shot capturing so much more than what the model is wearing.

Most people credit a great editorial to the model, the model is gorgeous, he can work the camera, etc, etc. However, most people fail to realize the talent and dope abilities of the photographer. I don't know who shot this photo but its amazing and sheesh hopefully I can get an eye for photography like this person has.

So the next time you see a dope pic in your fav fashion mag, remember, there is a highly talented person behind that camera and not always in front of it.

Independence.

So i'm not one to emotionally blog, i'll save that for super emotional menstrual chicks who just got dumped by their boyfriends. In no way is that me, but I guess today will be an exception.

So i'm recently single, like for the past 2 days and I've decided that this new found independence is not so bad and more importantly, needed. Relationships can become security blankets, you tend to get comfortable with the person you're with, which can ultimately become an excuse to dull who you are. I feel like for the last 3 months I've been part of a package, a twosome and I've kind of lost sight of me and replaced that me with us.

And not that us wasn't great; it was. My bf, well ex-bf is super amazing, couldn't ask for more, but we are headed on 2 separate paths right now, maybe those paths will cross again (I hope that they do), maybe they won't. Whatever happens, I def enjoyed the ride and would do it again without hesitation and normally this would be the part where I post a picture of us together, smiling, and happy, but I am not for that would completely invalidate this entire post and make this post a super, truly emotional one. I'm not into that.

So I know, I've completely gotten away from the advertising theme and such on the blog..sorry, but I've got soo many other things to talk about besides advertising. However, for the moment I'm gonna get back to it.

I've been looking around for internships with various advertising agencies in the city...it's not going too good. But yesterday I sent out a resume and cover letter to my TOP choice for internship, Translation, LLC.

This company is owned by Jay-Z and would be super cool to work for, but I don't really think they will get back to me, I def just went out on a limb and sent in my shit.

Bullhead...negative.

So mostly everyone who knows me well knows that I ONLY wear Bullhead jeans. Well, today ladies and gentlemen, all that changed. I went into Pacsun today, money in wallet planning on buying another 2 for $55. Well needless to say the new Bullheads SUCK. They are cheap, low quality, and the washes are disgusting.

So decided to make my way across the mall to AE. Since I have a great employee discount and they owe me a free pair of jeans, I decided to cross over to the dark side and try a pair on and VOILA! THEY FIT! So I got my free pair plus another pair and went on my way with my first purchase pair of non-bullhead jeans in like 2 years.

Sorry Bullhead, but you just aren't doing it for me anymore. Perhaps we can make-up again when your jeans return to the quality they were in the beginning.
